Recently a Big chunk of flesh(foreign body) removed from oesophagus of 62 years old edentulous patient coming to emergency department of Keshav with complete dysphagia . Dr Samir Thakre, Eminent ENT Surgeon examined the patient & plan of immediate intervention was taken.
Patient was taken to OT in emergency with additional floppy & edematous Epiglottis. It was practically impossible to intubate. Hence Plan of elective Tracheotomy was taken with relatives consent. After achieving sufficient anesthesia & through rigid Endoscopy Foreign body was located. A chicken mass of size 6cm X 2cm from oesophagus at level T5T6 was removed. Foreign Body was removed completely without injurying to esophageal wall.Patient is absolutely stable now. Post op day 2 x ray normal. Dr Samir Thakre did the herculean task . Dr Sachin Potey gave the required anesthesia & patiently managed the case. Dr Shankar Gabhane, OT Tech. Mohan and sister provide their valuable support.
